Sand paper method is a quicker way of repairing only the shoulder or seal area, but does not repair the bevel. Both methods are available for all yard locations or any rig / field location

THREAD DRESSINGIn field repairs can be done on threaded connections using files, sand paper, and high speed wheels with appropriate attachments. This can only be performed in accordance with applicable code and/or customer approval. All connections are inspected post repair using a profile gauge to insure the connection is still within acceptance criteria. This can save time and money for connections that would have other wise been too damaged for service.
